  1. Travelling by air brings it's own little problems. Depending on
  2. the airline and world conditions, you may have to remove
  3. batteries from all cameras. It is often better to do so anyway.

  5. Carry gear in a flight bag. each item is in a separate
  6. transparent polythene bag so that it can be looked at.

  8. All film should be kept in it's containers but it is best if
  9. these are transparent. These are then also placed in polythene
  10. bags.

  12. You can ask for film to not go through airport X-Ray machines,
  13. and, sometimes, they will agree. However, I've NEVER had a film
  14. damaged yet, even in America soon after the gulf war - and those
  15. films - up to 400 ISO - went through 4 times in total. This
  16. should not be taken as a guarantee !

  18. Don't video in the aircraft, they don't like it and a video
  19. camera, and similar electronic gear is reputed to be able to
  20. affect modern aircraft electronics.

  22. Keep everything handy so that it is easily inspected. Don't take
  23. large boxes or bags at all. I once saw a rather large chap cause
  24. a lot of trouble on a flight to Orlando when he went on board
  25. with a Sony Pro. 8mm video camera in it's large case. He refused
  26. to let the hostess take it off him, but it was obviously unsafe.
  27. BE WARNED - he lost in the end !!!!
